we have 3 coaches,
that is for JV and Varsity combined. 3 for the whole program. I coach the JV and help out on offense. then the Head Coach calls the offense and the defense and then we have a line coach.

14 coaches plus the head coach
head coach also serves as the district athletic director
DC serves as assistant ad and does not teach
all other coaches teach classes during the day (well, i don't -- do In-school-suspension in the morning)
this is actually the smallest staff i've been on in the past 8 years

i used to be under the old HC but am now only an iterim until the new HC takes over (hopefully that will be me)

I went through the same thing 2 years ago. I was the assistant HC when the HC resigned.
I had to apply for the position; I had to turn in a resume' and sit in front of a panel of people I knew already. They ask me questions THEY knew the answer too. In my head, I was like, how do I sell myself to people who knew me already; weird experience. Needless to say, I got the job and the rest is history...

We are a co-op program between two schools. Each school provides 3 paid coaches and we will have volunteers from time to time.

We have 11 but there are only 5 paid positions. Three coaches, including the HC, get full stipends. The others either split supplements or are volunteers. That's for varsity and JVs. We have no freshman program.

Our JV and frosh programs are together. Don't have enough kids in some years to play a 9th grade game.
