Anyone ever make a montage of famous movies scenes to motivate your players?
If so, how did you do it... what movies did you use... and how long did it take?
We're doing a lock in at the end of the season... and instead of watching movies... I figured, I'd make a montage, of the best scenes from some good movies...
What ya got?
Got to put in some...
Rocky - Workouts - (Cameo by Mr. T of course) Knock Around Boys - The 500 scene is classic Gladiator Some old school Kung Fu Training...
What else?

I would suggest the Heb Brook's speech from Miracle right before they played the USSR in the 80 Olympics... Facing the Giants Remember the Titans...Gettysburg scene Rudy ...

I always liked the Scene from "Any given Sunday," when Al Pacino gives his pre game speech on how every inch counts...

If you have semi intelligent kids, use the opening speech in Patton.

It was more a comedy than a traditional football movie, but just before Scott Bakula threw the last touchdown pass in Necessary Roughness to (If I remember right) #88 and he flashed back to his passing target dummy on the ranch with the same number, the hair stood up on the back of my neck. I look for that feeling a lot in movies but for some reason it was never quite duplicated yet.

Rocky - Workouts - (Cameo by Mr. T of course) Knock Around Boys - The 500 scene is classic Gladiator Miracle Any given Sunday (halftime speech) Remember the Titans (gettysburgh address) Facing the Giants (the buddy crawl scene of course) Vision Quest (Wrestling Pre-fight scene)

Rocky - Workouts - (Cameo by Mr. T of course) Knock Around Boys - The 500 scene is classic Gladiator Miracle Any given Sunday (halftime speech) Remember the Titans (gettysburgh address) Facing the Giants (the buddy crawl scene of course) Vision Quest (Wrestling Pre-fight scene) Braveheart (of course) The Guardian (the records scene... really hits home about the selfishness of individual accomplishment)

This one will motivate even the most apathetic. BTW, there is a well thrown football in this. And I believe the skull key's openings used to unlock the room was modeled after the alignment of the DW backfield. Sorry, I struggle with being serious.

How about Robert Loggia's halftime speech from Necessary Roughness? Morgan Freeman's speech in Glory when he talks about it being "time to ante up, and kick in like men!" I guess you can't use Sean Connery's line about winners and losers from The Rock.

Oh "Take the Lead" where Antonio is telling them that they too can be somethingright before they enter the competition
or Dead Poets Society when Williams has the kids walking in the courtyard and tells them to be unique

I have a tape with some scenes from Remember the Titans, Rocky, Braveheart. Between scenes is text created by power point which asks the kids questions or sets the tone for the scene.
One of the scenes I have used from Rocky is the "going the distance" scene before his fight with Creed. He says he just wants to go the distance, win or lose he just want ti finish the fight so people know he wasn't some bum.
Braveheart is of course the big "freedom" speech.
One thing I really like about the Pacino speech in Any Given Sunday is that it looks impromptu. When you watch him it does not look canned. Sometimes motivational speeches in movies look canned. I guess that is why Pacino is such a good actor.

I'll need some 2nd opinions on the Dead Poets and Take the Lead...
Take the Lead? Antonio Banderas?

Any body thought about the practice scene of Oklahoma's from The Program... the hitting gets my hair standing up...
Also, Ray Lewis talked about a tape he had made for the defense and how it had a bunch of discovery channel documentary footage of lions chasing and eating the other animals of the jungle... thought that was interesting
