wildcat, It is unfortunate that people will find anything and everything to pregnant dog about. I say if you don't like turn it off!!! I hope this site does not turn into what the other sites have become, which is s**t. kw I would rather have some people posting some humor every once in a while than no one posting anything.

This site will be fine. All of the drivel about, "coach can I get a copy of that, has it's place, the pure x and o's of specific offensive and defensive things have their place.
This is the general board. If it has something to do with football, then it is ok. Finding some humor in the absurdness of ESPN is ok. If you don't want to read it on here, don't. Kind of the same as turning off the TV when you see something on there you don't like eh?

You guys should be grateful - over here in the UK, the only company which shows college football (North American Sports Network has decided not to renew it's contract with ESPN. So apparently starting tomorrow we're not getting any more college ball at all (we used to get a decent package of 5 games a week), just some of the NFL Network stuff.

i'm disappointed that the article didn't mentioned sean salsbury.....i can't stand listening to that guy. most of the time, i flip the channel while he's on one of his "i'm holier than thou, and know more about this game than you so what i'm saying is the gods level truth" rants.

I wonder if Salisbury could tell us the difference between veer and midline?

what really riles me up about that guy is when he and the bald-headed reporter with the glasses (can't recall name) are called upon to debate an issue. salisbury will ALWAYS try to "validate" his opinion by spilling out some version of the {censored} comment, "well, since you never played the game you wouldn't know".......what a douche..

I just thought that it was a funny article. Didn't mean to step on any toes! When I was a kid, I LOVED SportsCenter with Kilborn, Patrick, Olberman, Charlie Steiner, and even Berman (because he was still trying back then). It just is disappointing to see how such a once-great show and a really awesome idea got ruined because some suit who doesn't know jack squat about sports decided that the network needed to appeal to the MTV generation.

the only thing I can chime in on...(I don't watch ESPN religiously....it's tempting...but I find other things to do)....the "making the news - not reporting it" is annoying.
I remember when a kid actually wanted to PLAY sports....not just grow up wanting to REPORT it! This is one thing I do not understand, personally. The whole fun of sports is PLAYING, COMPETING....not the audience, not the showmanship. I see kids today wanting to be sports casters or wanting to be coaches!?!?? WHY?! To, me...that's missing the whole point.
Bottom line - sports casters (God, love 'em) are reporters...they are not 'bigger' than what they are reporting....I do NOT CARE about Dan Patrick's personal life...so,please, spare me the details, Dan.

I want to coach because my knee won't cooperate with my want to play (which I'm not giving up on yet). There are always some alternate reasons for why people want to do things. Maybe they want to be a reporter/journalist and have an interest in sports and seek to combine the two. I don't know. What I do know, is that there is worse than ESPN's broadcasters. Has anyone heard a TBS (I think that's it. They show Pac-10 and Big-12 games) broadcast? Absolutely horrid. By just listening to them, you have to wonder if they have a combined IQ above 100.

Just to let you know on Dan Patrick's radio show Olberman has returned. He is on there for an hour a day. It's cool hearing the two of them togehter again expectially when they are talking about the behind the scenes things that use to happen on sports center.
