I have seen how alot of colleges just use Right or Left to determine strength of formation. Instead of old school PRO TRIPS etc... how do you guys call it?

4 wide = 2 basic formations (doubles & trips-open) so: doubles = right / left trips open = rope / lot
2 wide / 2 back / 1 TE = basically 2 formations without regard to backfield set (pro & twins) so: pro = r / l twins = rag / lace (TE always to the call letter)
now, from that TE set, use moving terms for the fullback (or the 3rd receiver if going to 1-back) so heavy/light for offset strong/weak wing/slot twins/pro etc. etc. making a call something like R Heavy ... or L Twins

We have names for our formations. If it's strong right it is simply the name such as EAGLE. If it is strong left then it is FLIP EAGLE.
