For those that remember the "Return to Glory" program from a couple of years ago that featured Dick Butkus as the so called "Head Coach" of Montour HS in Western PA, here's a positive update. Montour just concluded their season at 12-1 losing to undefeated Thomas Jefferson HS in the District 7 (WPIAL) championship game at Heinz Field (pre-sod) this past Friday. Coach Lou Cerro (the real head coach) has done an excellent job turning the program around, winning their conference championship and going into the district championship undefeated. The game was broadcast on FSN Pittsburgh and one of the best signs that was shown during the game was from Montour fans. It read "But-Kus This". Anyway it was good to see them have success after how ridiculous that show was.

Yes it was. I haven't seen a so called reality show yet about football that was worth watching.

while I am not a big tv watcher to start with. I did watch this show. while dick had some issues. He was right. the kids were soft and there attitude sucked. They would lay down in games at the first sign of defeat. THey needed to break the loser strong hold.
I remember watching one of the first shows and the kids were more worried about the party life of being a high school jock. they had no pride in their school. Then there was the kids who wondered when practice was done in the middle of practice. If any thing, this show was a prime example of how a losing mindset can become a strong hold in a community.
maybe dick did not turn them around but i think he was right in what was needed, a better attitude by the players.
good job by the coaches.
