With summer stuff going full on now and even some states starting HS football at the end if July, im looking for some comfy shoes for coaching. Shoes or insoles, whatever....what have people found that their feet dont hurt after being on them for hours at a time and can hold up to the dirt, grass, dew, rain, etc that coaches experience.

Barefoot? I've frequently gone without shoes when it's blazingly hot or wet.

I am an admitted shoe {censored} but i dont think you can just wear 1 pair of shoes
I like to rotate my shoes
I literally never wear the same pair of shoes back to back days unless I am out of town and i am traveling light
I feel like my feet feel better whenever i change shoes just because each shoe is different, even ones that are the same shoe different color scheme
In the summer (not teaching) I will often wear one pair in the morning when i lift and just hang out and then change into a different pair before i go to practice

I'm a runner as well, and really like the support that Brooks shoes offer. I run in Ghost 9's which are great on my bad knees.
Thinking about getting a pair for casual wear/being on the field because they're so comfortable. As a bonus the Ghost 10s just came out so some places are selling the 9s pretty reasonably.

Skechers with memory foam. Most comfortable shoes I have ever owned.

My most comfortable shoes are Brooks and New Balance, but dat chit don't match my coaching gear. Nike Winflo, Free Run, Pegasus, and Structure series are all great! The Structure series probably has the most support but can start to feel stiff on the bottom. I have wide feet.

I wear low cut hiking shoes. They give great support to my flat feet, provide good traction on grass, and they keep my feet dry when the grass is wet from dew or light rain. I wear them all the time, and they can take a beating. I might look goofy with these, but my dogs don't bark, no matter how long I'm on them.

I actually wear cleats. I find they're way better on my old joints as opposed to regular shoes that tend to have an elevated heel. The elevated heel tends to push my hips forward and forces you to lean back to balance so after a couple hours your back is pretty tight.

This has been the bane of my summer, I cannot find a pair of athletic shoes that fit. All the running shoes are ridiculously too narrow, and when I get wide they are too wide on the toes. I can't buy online because sizes never stay the same, sometimes I'm a 12, other times a 13. I have been wearing the same pair of Nikes our school bought all the coaches 3 years ago- they have holes in them but at least they fit.

Shoes or insoles, whatever....what have people found that their feet dont hurt after being on them for hours at a time and can hold up to the dirt, grass, dew, rain, etc that coaches experience. I'm not real huge in thinking about the different shoes that I use from one day to the next. Probably just not old enough yet HAHA ...... I do know, however, that I like a decent pair of shoes. Beyond that, I know that my old man (wasn't a coach, but an HVAC guy who worked ridiculous hours each day), was once told by a doctor (he started with his back being absolutely awful, then his legs, then his feet) that he should have 7 pairs of shoes-- 1 for each day. The doctor (not sure what type of doctor it was, but the thought process remains) told him to have a pair of shoes, even if they weren't the highest quality shoes, for each day of the week--he couldn't afford expensive shoes, regardless of what the doctor had told him. There was something about how shoes would remember his feet from day to day and cause problems but if he switched pairs from day to day he'd have much less pain (he had pain through his whole body, realistically). It has worked for him to change his shoes each day. Like I have said, I'm not exactly sure of the reasoning behind the move, or the doctor who said it, but I do believe in having a lot of different pairs. Could be totally wrong, but I've seen it work to an extent. >>>>>

Get ya a pair of red wing boots with gel in soles.
You'll look funny, but your feet will love em.
I'm serious, but if appearances are more critical than comfort I would suggest under armors coaching shoe

I wear New Balance turf shoes, I think they're usually made for baseball. Current pair is the 4040v3. They have some grip for being on the field, but still a soft rubber sole I can wear around inside.

Hoka One One. They are running shoes that a lot of coaches in our area have started wearing.
They have large soles and my brother swears by them.

Along the same line, check out Merrells. Very comfortable, lightweight, breathable, and waterproof. Expensive but worth it. They are built for outdoorsy types so getting through a football season would be a piece of cake. These would be my #1 choice if price wasn't a big deal.

Boombahs are nice and not too expensive.
I look for a shoe that is comfortable but also durable. I like something with a little bit of protection around the top if I get stepped on. So.....not Nike Free or that Fly Mesh stuff. I like those shoes but not on the practice field.
Last year I wore Adidas Speed Trainers for games and practice and also had another pair of Nike's on reserve.

You can get a great pair of turf shoes that will last at least 3 seasons for less than $50. Can't beat it! Oh and while I'm providing free promotion for them they sell a good football cleat for around $30. Great option for kids who aren't able to afford them (or kids like my son who can afford them but his dad is a cheap ahole who refuses to pay more money for a logo).

I've been wearing New Balance Minimus line shoes for probably 4-5 months now and it's one of the single best things I've done for my feet after ditching flip flop sandals.

They make the best hunting boot you can buy. I've chased elk in them all day, every day for 12 days and my feet didn't hurt a bit. I'm 6'4" and extra fluffy, I'm hard on shoes. The only thing that I have found that keeps my legs & back from hurting is rotating shoes. If I give a pair of shoes a couple days off they feel like walking on clouds and they will last a couple years. If I wear them for a week or two straight they are worthless.

I ran into a coach today and he was wearing Hoka One One brand. He said that is all he wears now. He's an avid runner too.

Alright Boombah people. They got a couple styles and colors (I buy all neutral everything - so much black/grey and could use some school themed shoes) and looks that got me intrigued much more than the Hoka One Ones do. Prices are hard to beat. Do they last long though? I've been a big name brand guy (especially Nike) because theyve always given me such great mileage. Im still a bargain hunter and all the shoes I have were either given by the program or bought at outlets. And I'm loving the Boombah prices. Do they last you awhile though?

Bought my first pair of Boombahs 10 years ago and have bought two more since. Honestly, I've never bought a new pair because I needed them and I still keep that first pair at school in case I forget the others. They're not in perfect condition after 10 years but don't have any major tears. I've even used them for umpiring baseball games because they're great on the dirt and grass.
I can't remember which styles I have bought, but all three have been great. Definitely get the turf shoes though as they are great for wet grass. I'm looking at the Riots this year as they are lighter than most of the others.
