This is piggy backed off the "how do you send in your plays" post.
Wristbands, how many plays?
Do you use a code or any type of system to lable the columns, etc...?
How many players?
Do you use excel to create your wristbands?

This is just one man's opinion / style. I am all for the quick-and-dirty method. Wristband typically houses 20 plays but have gone up to 50. Every play is written out per our calling syntax (front/coverage/stunt/blitz/special) On defense, both ILB have a wrist coach, but have given one to FS and to SOLB. I throw everything in Excel....then copy & (special) paste into PowerPoint where I can piece together and size as need (much easier) as well as build the game night sheet by just pasting the wristcoach into my substitution/depthchart / tendency sheet. this is what is looks like;

again...use as a template if you need....but this is HOW IT LOOKS LIKE when you complete the 'process'.... www.savefile.com/files3.php?fid=6187218it's a powerpoint and if you copy & paste over the existing graphics you get a perfectly SIZED placard for the QB wrist coach shield. You can see that this one is labelled Week 6.....If you select and move the graphics the previous week's playcard are 'underneath' the callsheet seen.

I suppose it bears mentioning that this way also helps during the week.
It seems the coaching staff communicates more through email than through office discussions. This way you can easily send and receive 'updates' of the game plan and everyone can be on the same page, instead of waiting until practice rolls around.

I agree with you regarding the email.
So you do your wrisband and game sheet in excel but then you copy and past it to powerpoint.
My question is how do you get it all size up correctly in powerpoint because when I try and paste something from excel it never fits.

My question is how do you get it all size up correctly in powerpoint because when I try and paste something from excel it never fits. that's because you're pasting as an Excel object... "paste special" as a bitmap

Thanks, now I can don it.
I guess the same type of thing if I went from Word to PP or from Excel to Word or from Word to Excel.
I'll have to try it.

I have used wristbands for several years, I use the three window flip open type that closes with velcro. Mine is based in excel, I have a template made with the correct sizes to cut out and fit in the windows. When using 10 font-bold, I get 24 plays per card, three cards for a total of 72 plays, sounds like a lot but I am always making choices between stuff for the last spaces. I use different colors to break up the print when you are looking at it, red for roll out or play action, blue for drop back passes, green for screen, black for run. We run a lot of different formations with modifications and motions, so it is nice to have the verbage in print so that it is read off rather than relayed in, words get lost in the transfer of information sometimes. I copy and paste the cells with the number/play to my game day sheet, under sections such as middle run, off tackle, sweeps, counters, etc, etc, and also copy and paste to areas for situations, such as 3rd down and red zones. Lastly, although we use the same plays and formations every week, I scout myself and change up the formation/play combinations from the previous week to confuse opposition scouting reports. I do this every week- it takes an hour or so to think it through, cut it out and laminate it with the self adhesive sheets. I save each weeks game plan/wristbands as a seperate sheet in the excel file, such as game 1, 2,3 etc. this way I can go back to previous game plans, and self scout through out the season. On Game day I have the sheet inside a plastic sleave so that I can make notations with a grease pen on things to do, what was good, bad, ugly, etc.... Another thing that I do is that I script the first 10 plays in order on the wristband, this way we can go quick huddle, sometimes I stick with it, sometimes I don't, just depends.

We use wristbands and all of our defensive calls are asigned a number. Mike LBs and DBs have the wristbands. We also have two flip chart books that we use to signal the call onto the field. One book is "hot" and one is not.
This ystem has cut down significantly the confusion in out play calling. Doen't allow for misinturpretation of hand signals.

Mike gave me ALOT of stuff and asked me NOT to share it with anyone...he did allow me to put some of my stuff up on my site.
I think he wants to trade it on his own and / or sell it or keep it low-key.
So no I dont think it would be a good idea to post Emendorfer's stuff (as great as it is).
