We use the ball brushes on our leather balls and looking to make it a little easier for us. I bought a bench grinder and thought we would put a polishing wheel on it. Anyone do this? If so, what kind of wheel did you get? I have heard people using horsehair brush like what is used on shoeshine machines but can't really find a cheap option

The cheapest option is to go through BigGame footballs out of TX. They are going to require you to buy their lathe but with all the attachments you need its probably worth it. The last I checked they were offering a cheaper lathe setup for HS level.
I did what you did and bought a lathe and then went through harbor freight and amazon for attachments. I made a lot of phone calls to companies and they kept leading me back to BigGame.

We bought the Big Game Power Brush. It has helped out tremendously.

How many balls are you going through to be industrializing your operation?

How many balls are you going through to be industrializing your operation? I agree with this but if the OP is determined to find a way to mechanize the process I'd suggest that he call a few college equipment managers.
