The TE DAvis that all thescouts were talking about...
252# benched the 225# 45 times, ran a sub 4.5, ran the gauntlet better than most of the WRs and impressed Belichik and Schottenhimer to boot.

If it isn't Lendale White, then it will be AJ Hawk.

the draft is a crap shoot. jerry rice was a lower round pick and look what he did.
offensive skill players just do not fair well in the first round.
I read where white had let his weight get up to 258 and weighed in at the combine at 238.
you cannot go by being a work out warriro either. the guy which set the most reps at 225 did not even get drafted.
I am alway leary about what they say. look at robert gallery the raiders took him and the people said oh pencil him in a left tackle for the next 10 to 15 yrs. he is not only a poor left tackle, they moved him to right tackle. they have a ton of money invested in a right tackle. typical raiders.

LenDale
I think Gallery "suffered" because they already had a LT, and played him at LG.

I have never understood (and probably never will) just what GM look for in certain draft picks. I always think back to the Ron Dayne pick. I kept thinking that guy would never make it as a pro running back (Shawn Alexander was also in that draft). I guess in the future I’ll look at this year’s pick thinking the same thing. I the latest mock draft Vince Young has moved down to # 7 (Oakland). I understand that Lienert is going to be a good QB but, you can’t teach him to be an athlete. Young, on the other hand is a good, athletic QB who can be taught to be an even better QB. Lienert is, in my opinion, a west coast offense style QB. He reminds me a lot of Chad Pennington. He is makes good decisions but, he’s not a deep threat. Eventually that will hurt him. I cant understand why the Jets don’t pick up Young and trade Pennington (who they often complain about) for an offensive lineman (which they’re thinking of getting in their 1st pick) or a running be that they will need in the very near future. And that statement brings me to my pick as to why will be a good pro. I think this poll is missing the biggest bargain in the first round in RB DeAngelo Williams. Remember, he didn’t have an All American cast around him like Lienert, Bush, and White and in my opinion he’s a lot better than White. I look for this guy to become a premier back and at a great deal because of the RB that will be picked before him. My vote is Williams. Hawk only had one good game all year ( against ND) and was the #2 LB on his team....plus his Wonderlic score was on the lower end, BUT his fiance is good looking though

No love for D'brickishaw? The guy was amazing all season and even better at the Senior Bowl.
Lendale looks like franchise back. Bush doesn't IMO. Heck of an athlete though.
I personally don't think any of the QBs stand out this year. Cutler looks good. Vince is a great athlete but a raw QB. I'm not a big fan of Leinert at all. He had the perfect opportunity to showcase his "skills" against Texas and made himself look like a fool.

No love for D'brickishaw? The guy was amazing all season and even better at the Senior Bowl. The guy certainly has all the tools. The few games I've seen of him....good golly, he could be a Tight End for as athletic as he is. I heard he put on 20 lbs since the Senior Bowl, I'm sure with his body he could put up another 50 and not be fazed!! Jury is still out, but like Alex Barron, last year - he's got all the giftings to be an elite pro player.

There aren't many sure things, but most safeties and guards who are taken early project well into the pros. Michael Huff for example looked like an NFL player most of last season - the way he gets out of his drop, breaks down when he reaches the ball carrier. Bet he was one of the few who could get near V.Young. Many Outside linebackers/Rush Ends also seem to do well, see Ware and Merriman last year for example. Someone in these positions will get drafted in the top 64 and be a multi-year allpro. Sort of off-subject, I read that Jay Cutler benched 23 times, most ever by a Qb at the combine (qb lifting is optional). What a way to audition, this guy might not be the best Qb but he's the best at showing what he can do.

i personally loved seein Cutler show off his talents like that...but we'll see where it gets him...i like his attitude tho definately...but best pro?...no one will have this answer till 10 years from now...we get so involved in the hype and i am jsut as guilty as everyone here but we get so into it that when the real star evolves we dont even look back at what he did at the combine, and thats because its nothing spectacular or outrageous...they simply have the skill and then that "it" factor...a guy not even mentioned on here will be remembered as the greatest out of draft class 06 and we will never know how everyone passed on him...like the bradys and the rices...its why the NFL is so fun to watch...but with all that bullS*** said im gonna go with one of the USC brothers...bush white or leinart lol...they all have solid backgrounds as far as system recognition and work ethic...i know white's is a bit of a question but he'll over come that...Bush is a phenominal athlete..everything everyone says he is and then he will shock the world with his unknown power...and Matt as far as arm strength..guarantee his arm is up there with guys that win superbowls...and thats enough for me...brady doesnt have anywhere near one of the strongest arms he just has what it takes to lead, and i see that from leinart also...but once again when it comes down to it i dont believe anyone in here is making a good prediction...lol but i still try...

plus his Wonderlic score was on the lower end, BUT his fiance is good looking though Two comments on that... When was the last time an Ohio State athlete scored on the upper half of the Wonderlic? And did his fiance help him in that game against ND?
