Basically I'm looking to start churning out articles again, and am wondering what people want to read about to help me pick a project.

I'm always interested in program-building ideas; schematically, looking at the toss version of power read and the counters and compliments you can do off that play.

A team we played in the playoffs this year (they were undefeated at the time) built their entire O around power read. At some point I plan on doing an extensive write up complete with film clips on what they do. Maybe I'll make that my next project. Not sure if they ran toss off of that scheme or not. They didn't against us, but they had some stuff they didn't do in our game.

Continuing the complete overhaul of the team and turning it into a Program.
X's and O's can wait, I'm much more interested in investing in teaching my coaches and captains to be leaders and sorting out a lot of the back office issues we have.

innovative coaches, who may be younger, should try to find experienced coaches willing to expand their horizons. I'm an old soul (but young in age) HC who loves to bring on more experienced guys on staff who aren't afraid to learn new things.

We'll run it with a TB without a motion but also with the jet motion guy reading the playside end. We will have an inexperienced QB this fall--regardless of who wins the position--so I'm thinking maybe the toss version of it may be easier with a kid who's never worked the meshes before? I'm not the OC/HC so ultimately not my call, but looking into it regardless!

1.) Getting every returning player in the weight room on a consistent basis. 2.) Getting new faces in the weight room on a consistent basis. 3.) Motivating all those in the weight room to get back to and this time win a ring. (runner-up last year) 4.) Continue to get better at what we do...

Man, if I had those answers I probably wouldn't be on this board and blogging. I'd be working for Harbaugh or Meyer or something.

Zone blocking, Air Raid passing game, building an off-season training schedule/program building, and the HUNH are the four main topics I'm studying this off-season.

BTW this is also the reason I take all this SEAL training stuff w/ a grain of salt. If you had 22 seal type guys on your team..well just imagine

Aside from the ongoing quest to "find and better one's self", my big scheme thing is finding a new Tackle Over set I like. Were a spread team so we have 1 T-Over, wildcat set we use for goalline. Its good stuff and we got a lot of mileage out of it. Looking for another wrinkle to it and another unbalanced look that I like.

PM me if you're interested.

The HC I will be potentially working for next season is interested in more two high coverage. I know C2 and C2 Read well but I need to become more comfortable with quarters coverage reads and technique.

They were actually pretty good and had an absolute stud at QB. It was also the first time our 75 year old DC had ever really played against a spread team. Turns out 7 in the box with 2 deep safeties isn't very effective against 2x2 spread. My mom felt really bad after the game when she was asking why none of their parents bothered to show up for the game.

Oh, you meant football stuff...

I will say that around here, the times we won the ship....before I got here unfortunately... came on the heels of a runner up finish. Kids seemed to have extra motivation in the weight room and on the field to get back to the big game.
