I was wondering if anyone could give me advise with creating a program ad book. Do you use any particular company at all? Pros/Cons.
Also does anyone sell advertisements at their field for a length of time or even games? We have a nice facility, but our district does nothing whatsoever to create funds through advertisement. If we can not sell permanent space (length of time), we might try to game only advertisements.

Program - There are a number of companies that will do the printing, I think that I found that it was going to be $4-7 per copy to be printed with card stock covers, full color, 20+ pages of printing kind of thing. The printing companies (not the folks that do all this for you, but the companies that do printing for a living) don't care what you are printing, only that the file is something they can use and that you follow their requirements. You sell the programs for $10 and maybe net a couple of bucks on that, but that's not where you make the $$. That comes from selling the ad space on the inside. You use the program as the mechanism/channel to get the ads out to the public, not as a funding source itself.
Field ads - They used to do that here until the AD decided that he owned the fields so all funding from ads and banners went to the general athletic fund rather than the team. Per common lore here - Companies would pay like $250 for a 4'x6' banner that was hung on the fence before the home games. That would be 5-6 games each season. $200 to re-up the following year(s). I've also seen them mounted on plywood sheets cut lengthwise and hinged together so they form an "A" shape. Ad is printed and goes on the panel. Ad is peeled off at the end of the season and used again next year.

Gameday media solutions
we get 2500 a year and all i have to do is send them a few emails
they get the sponsors (they keep the profit over 2500) but i dont have to do anything but give them away for free.
I like it because it is EASY.
Photo guy comes out and does head shots he sends them to the company i give them rosters with the numbers to match up submit a new Letter from the HC send in any new coach headshots and thats it
$2500 check in the mail in November
Easy
Yes you can earn more if you get the sponsors yourself, i just dont have the time and energy to do all that, build them, have them printed, etc.

What happens if they can't sell enough ads? Do you have to give done money back? havent had that happen but i dont think that ever happens to them they get a TON of ads and they get little schedules printed out on cards with real estate agents ads on the back the contract you sign locks you in to getting that 2500 so i think you get that even if they struggle to get people to buy the ads
