I have a hard time watching the lower level games. It's not because of the quality of the football. It's because of the quality of the broadcast- strictly amateur hour. The production and announcers remind me of a local high school game.

Does anybody have any info about different strategies D II teams use in allocating their scholarships?

yes, they can split them however they like How do the good teams split them up? Seems like there's a lot of potential for both strategy and hurt feelings Something like, 'no one gets a gets a full scholarship until they earn a starting job' lets you spread your scholarships further, and protects you from wasting one on a kid who doesn't work out, but of course, then you're probably losing better players to schools who give them out more liberally Similarly most public schools charge different rates for in state and out of state kids, such that giving more of your scholarships to out of state kids probably expands the universe of kids who can afford to play for you, though I suspect that if the in state kids pick up on what you're doing, you wind up burning bridges that you need to survive In D III, no athletic scholarships, but schools that want to win, have a lot of 'leadship' scholarships that football players qualify for, I got to imagine that similar stuff happens at the D II level

I doubt a lot of them get a full ride, yes maybe the starters on offense and defense, I know NW redshirts frosh, a lot of 1/4 and 1/2 scholarships

NW is a different case because kids will go there even if they aren't getting a full ride. Success breads success and they want to be apart of it. There's been a handful of MO kids that have turned down smaller D1/D1AA schools to go play at NW.
They also rely on academic scholarships to make up the difference the athletic part doesn't pay. If you're not a high character, intelligent, and athletic kid... You're not going to NW. They get the pick of litter.
