As I sit here as the HC/OC, I'm trying to think of how many times I've had a 200 yard rusher and finished with a loss like what happened yesterday. My fullback went for 205 on 25 carries and two slots combined for 130 on 10 carries. We punted once, when we were called for a 15 yard penalty on a perfectly executed scramble for a 15 yard penalty. Swish cheese defense kept our offense off the field and we lost 40-20. Mind boggled.

Sounds like you guys had some turnover or red zone issues.

Sounds like you guys had some turnover or red zone issues. Stopped inside the 20 twice. Once when we were called for an illegal chop block then called for an illegal shift when on our had his hands under center and looked to me for the play call. Each team went on very long time eating drives.

Thanks coach. We've got some quality kids. Feels good to vent and be understood sometimes. Best of luck this year.

90rocketI am 0-2 as an offensive coordinator when I have a single player rush for 300 yards in a game... Couldn't believe it the 1st time, the 2nd time it happened it didn't bother me as much because I wouldn't have done anything different in either game. Run the ball with my best player and score some points. Why I love this game... only true team game left.

Had it happen once as a coach. Down 28-21 we score on a speed option play 80 yards and the RB finishes with over 225. We go for two because of the weather and lost 28-27

Each team went on very long time eating drives. Those red-zone turnovers are a killer, especially against (or as) a time-eating team. I didnt track individual stats, but we've have games like that...300 yards of total offense in the 1st half, 0 points, 4 turnovers (2 downs, 2 fumbles) inside the 10. The kind of game you wish you could pause after the 1st quarter, get on the bus, and start the whole night over. Brutal, coach. Best thing to do is make it a teachable moment for yourself and your kids. And also drink heavily.

Last Friday our RB had 24 carries for 247 yards and a TD, our QB went 14 for 22 for 220 yards and 2 TD's and we lost 34-31.
Red Zone killed us, in the first half
1st and goal from the 5 - Center snaps the ball over the QB's head, they recover. 1st and 10 from the 11 - Turnover on downs 1st and 10 from the 17 - Missed FG 1st and 10 from the 20 - Block in the back, Holding, Sack, end up 2nd and 31, manage to get back to the 25 and then Miss a FG Second half 1st and 10 from the 20: End up 4th and 6th, call timeout and tell the QB to throw to a specific kid who has been open every time, QB throws to a different kid, kid we told him to throw to was wide open. Luckily we got a PI call. Unfortunately we do nothing with the next 3 downs and kick a FG.
1 for 5 in the red zone with a bad snap and 2 missed FG's but that has been our season so far, actively finding ways to lose games.

Yes had a guy with 240 yards I think on 12 carries. Lost by 12 I think. They had two scoop and scores.
Also in high school as a junior went into overtime and won by penetration with our RB rushing for 345 yards in the game. Could have easily lost that one.

We had one kid drop a punt for a TD, and one kid misfield two kickoffs for turnovers. Was absolutely disgusting. Game still give me nightmares

As a sophomore PLAYER, our FB went for 200+...mostly on Trap. I think we lost by a touchdown 20-12 or something close to that. HC after the game said he couldn't think of a time that had happened in his career. Worst part was that the loss was that particular opponent's 1st conference win in like 40+ games...guess strange stuff like that happens when you only have 13 Jr & Sr football players on a team.
