I know some schools will push their coach out if they just go to the playoffs and don't win, and other places will let you stay as a head coach forever as long as you are a good teacher. What is it like where you are? Why do you think it is so?

no one rises to low expectations and its tough to sit and watch futility, the coach and school doing the same things over and over again with the same results.....however, that said, there are so many bigger things about the game than just winning. some real jerks win championships in this game. they do more harm to our kids than good.

I am in a great situation, the school wants to win, but as long as I work my but off, we get a little better, and I do right by the kids, wins do not mean much.

I think it should always be about performance over winning...ie, are your kids disciplined? i watched some california playoffs, teams had division I runningbacks and olinemen...but no discipline and i was shocked at how sloppy these teams were. penalty flags, unsportsmanlike, total lack of discipline and respect for the officials and the game...those things are important to a school...lets face it, every time your team takes the field it represents teh school, its student body, the community. you can lose with class and discipline and still make folks proud.
