This should be a safe poll. As the HC, I made a decision with our staff gear for this coming season. We're breaking tradition and going with the visor. What's on your head?

We actually get both. I wear the visor during practice and in casual situations like a scrimmage where we wear shorts. I always wear the baseball style cap on game night when i wear the kahki dress pants. Kind of silly, but its just what I do . . .

I wear a visor but they can wear what they want. It isn't a fashion show and we don't have to be perfectly alike we were the Temptations.

Shouldn't the Tom Landry hat option be added in there? I don't wear one but they're coming back in style

A hat would never work at the level of ball I coach at. You can run that kinda gear, in our league. We destroy any team that tries to wear hats against us....
Just had to make this feel like every other poll.... But anyways, I hate visors cuz they make my hair look weird. I always wore a baseball style cap or stocking hat since I was in alaska, it was normally not warm weather.

Even Spurrier seems to have gotten away from visors a bit. He doesn't seem to wear them nearly as much as he used to. I think he likes to be different. Now that so many are wearing them, he doesn't like them as much.

I was always a baseball cap guy until I did some student coaching at the collegiate level. First day I had on an Auburn cap. The AD made me take it off, and the bookstore didnt have any school caps besides the actual baseball team's cap. So, I broke down and got a visor. Been wearing one ever since.

Baseball hat - I like visors but my receeding hairline doesn't make the look 'work' for me. I'm not huge on staff co-ordination of gear. The previous program I worked for they had a little more 'basic' version of football - we only cared about things that helped us win football games. Attire wasn't one of them. It worked too... they've won 15 titles in the the last 22 years

Visor, that way I can go right to the golf course.....LOL I try to coach teams named titlest or ping so that I can save money on the wardrobe.... That's funny. I voted for the naked head. The HC tried to get us to wear visors three years back, I never wore it on gameday. He understood, I still called him Spurrier everytime he put his on (he was the OC and always wanted to try something new). I second AJ's comment on the headwear not working too well with the headset. I've got enough things to worry about on gameday, I'm not too worried about finding my hat, finding my sunglasses (and they're important with the 4:30 start time) is difficult enough.

I'm a one guard or less on top. I wear a hat to keep my head from burning to a crisp. Visors are useless to those hair-challenged. The new HC and I are both chrome domes, so if anything I told him we should implement a staff hair policy. One guard or less...

I'm a life-long baseball fan so I go with what they do -- wear the same uniform as the players. I usually dress in full gear and found i can intimidate the opposing coach (and referees) during the coin toss. Opponents don't stray near our sideline when they see 5 old guys wearing football helmetrs. Also protects us when the boobirds start throwing things... I double as a swim coach in the winter and follow the same guidelines - nothing like a +300 pounder in a speedo to bring in the spectators.

Hat or nothing. Unless you run spread and think you're smarter than every other football coach that has come before you in the last 100+ years. Then you should go with the visor.

I have been a hat guy all my life. But if the beach attire is good for the "Old Ball Coach" it's good enough for me.

I wear hats during the summer practices only, just because I had one of my high school coaches pass away from skin cancer. I too am a chrome dome and like to let it shine on game nights.

Just in case you think I'm a fashion Nazi - In South Florida on a Saturday you NEED a hat/visor or you're fried. All of my other coaches were on board with my decision.

The abuse a coach on our staff would take for wearing a visor from our staff and kids would be brutal. I'm not saying visor's are "gay"...but there are some tendancies there. Agreed. Visors are for chicks!! I am not even girl enough to wear one....it's a ball cap for me.

Unless you run spread and think you're smarter than every other football coach that has come before you in the last 100+ years. Then you should go with the visor. Yep, the visor came free with the spread manual and dvd, $99.99. Actually was something in the manual about the offense not working unless you wear the visor. Also got a secret membership ID, no secret handshake though, way to advanced for that, microchips and encrypted digital communications for us. I also got a coupon for a free bowl of soup with it. I am however open to upgrading headwear, I might order me a $99.99 DoubleWing dvd if they throw in their Kevlar Battle Helmet with the spikes on it and provide a lifetime supply of free kook-aid. Truthfully, in a heartbeat I'd go with a Bum Phillips 10 Gallon hat if I didn't have to match it up to those pointya$$ed boots, I just can't give up the wiggle room for my toes. Hat or visor for practice, naked head on game days. I have, what has been referred to, a "bucket head". One of my coaches said that for a helmet, I needed to get a 5 gallon bucket because my head is so freaking big. Still self-conscience about it, but I go with no guard on the dome and let it shine. Figure its the best way to confront my insecurities. LOL
