I am looking at purchasing a speaker systems to use at our practice field. Been looking at a few different portable MP3/bluetooth models. Any suggestions of a type of speaker(s).

You can get a block rocker or something similar at Costco or Sam's for under 150
I've seen them on sale under 100
They work well Just don't then them up to max with rap on
Seems to blow them out I ruined one that way and got another one and j don't let anyone touch the volume but me

Block Rocker or Job Rocker- we have the Job Rocker its better suited to handling weather issues if they arise and its made for being outside. Like coachbdud said with the volume if you play something with a lot of base in it, turn the volume on your phone down to about 75% and don't turn the volume on the speaker all the way up or it will sound distorted, but other than that its a great investment. Ours gets used all the time, we use it in the weight room because we have no sound system and we use it at practices outside. Its going on being used for a year and half now and still going strong, and it blasts rap music all the time.

I love the block rocker, and I think it's the most flexible/economical way to go. Great range and as the HC it allows me to seamlessly control the volume from wherever I'm at.

I have a dewalt job site radio and I love it. I use it working around the house or in the gym. Very rugged, plays radio or aux cord, charges your phone, doubles as an outlet.

Link isn't working for me. I picked up an Ion Block Rocker for under $100 (an older generation off of Amazon) & like it so far.

we have one of these rockers. We used it this last season and it was pretty good. I want a little more volume though. So I had a dad take it and give it a look over. He was able to open it up and splice some speaker wire on it. So I have to other speakers that we hook up to it. Haven't had it out on the practice field yet, but in the weight room it puts out some serious sound now!!!

Have been a HUGE proponent of music out on the practice field for both energy and communication purposes. Each of my first two seasons I tried different setups and have finally found the perfect unit that is reasonable for most programs to afford ($169 at Sam's Club). www.samsclub.com/sams/total-pa-plus/prod20353926.ipIt's a BIG 350 watt Bluetooth speaker with built in PA and comes with both a portable stand and microphone. It also has wheels on bottom of speaker to easily move it. It it VERY loud and I highly recommend it.

We actually purchased two large speakers for our practices this year. We were using them for an early camp and all of a sudden out track coach (hates football) ran right into one knocking it over. He then took off!!!! When I confronted him about it he said "the wind blew it over". Approx. 60 kids saw him do it. He is still working here. Can't make this stuff up.

We had a donor give us some money for speakers and we got speakers that bands use. We use them at our camps and summer practices, as well as cookouts, our banquet, and our golf outing.

Anyone have the setup that Coach Comm offers called the Evenue Tempo? It has a period clock as well as a sound system attached to a rolling cart? We are looking for something like this but we are having trouble finding other companies that offer this product.
