Anyone have a good VCR to DVD burner they can tell me about? Good brand? Getting in the market for one and would like reliability and decent cost..under $300 if possible. Thanks in advance. Looking for one that I can then transfer to my computer and cut up game film.

I bougha Toshiba D-VR5 this summer and love it. It has HDMI output, and a bunch of bells and whistles I don't use. What I do like, is that you put a tape and a blank DVD in, hit dub and it burns it. Best Buy has this for $200.00. If you would be interested in purchasing a factory refurbished items I have a source for that at about $140. Send me a message and I will get you the info on who I went through for that.

when you put the tape in and dub it does it do it in real time or does it go at a faster rate?

It does it in real time. I could be wrong, but I think anything that dubs from a tape will always be real time at best.

I have a Sony DVDirect. You can hook it to a VCR, or directly to a camcorder (or about anything else with RCA or S Video Outputs. It is about $200.
