Hey Fellas I'm launching a product this summer to the football world we have already received a lot support from alot NFL,College and Highschool coaches.
I'm Kenyatta Wright former NFL Linebacker it's my passion to safely enhance the game of football by properly training tackling without the risk of injuring teammates.
The kids watch NFL biggest hits and games and see the super stars launching and using forearms and head shots ,so they emulate that. “We are trying to get rid of that mindset, and so is the NFL. Proper tackling techniques and practice will help athletes be healthier and safer playing the game we all love.” All of the former NFL players we talked to agreed that teaching kids to tackle properly at a young age is crucial to their development as football players. Specifically, I see younger players tackling with their heads. It’s scary , and I don’t like to see that going on. I think that there’s plenty we can do on our end as Coaches and Parents to teach them the safer, and more effective ways to tackle and also practice . It will make careers a lot longer.
So what is SafeTackle
* Teaches players to adjust their angle of pursuit and vision.
* Teaches open field tackling and reducing injuries without the use of other players.
* Teaches players to wrap up in open field and finish the tackle
* Enhances Football teams ability practice talking with risking another athlete injury.
DESIGNED SPECIFICALLY TO EMULATE THE SIZE, MOVEMENT, RESISTANCE, AND CONTOURS OF AN OPPOSING PLAYER. ALLOWING FOR THE ABILITY TO SAFELY TACKLE AT FULL SPEED, EXERTING MAXIMUM FORCE AND INTENSITY. GREATLY REDUCING THE RISK OF HEAD OR BODILY INJURY INVOLVED IN PLAYER-ON-PLAYER CONTACT DRILLS.

GREATLY REDUCING THE RISK OF HEAD OR BODILY INJURY INVOLVED IN PLAYER-ON-PLAYER CONTACT DRILLS. We have 2 patent filings. The 1st is the general foam ring with inner cutout, filed as a device for football tackle training. App#62/251,224 Docket #TPP27079 Date:11/05/2015 The 2nd is more specific in the hex interior design contour . App#62/307,105 Docket# TPP29133 3/11/2016 If you want more info let me know kwright@safetackle.com How/why are you filing a patent on a general foam ring with the inner coutout.. the hex thing I have not seen (please explain the benefit). There are several companies that now make these rings. SEVERAL!!! Almost all of the major equipment manufactures are making them. The one thing you have going for you right now is price. If the quality stands up, then you should be able to put a flux in their ability to control the market.

We have a few of the Rhino ones. We love them. Allows you to work tackling at a pretty fast pace without having to consistently be hitting each other. We do one per indy group, so only problem I have you have to wait on the kid to get up and get ring back to you, but we still get a lot of good reps in. I think it is a Good way to work tackling fundamentals with a moving target without the actual contact. Great for young guys learning to tackle correctly.
Curious--Ours have straps for footballs, does anyone use these and for what reason? We thought maybe for a strip component drill but the straps are so tight the football stays in them.

There's no way to loosen the straps just a little bit so the ball is semi-secure but loose enough to punch out?

Looks like a good purchase. It looked to me like 90% of the kids in that video were launching themselves and leading with their heads. I don't think that is what we want to be teaching.

our innertube worked great last year. total cost $0 - got it donated by a farmer. We thought it did everything the more expensive models did.

Good stuff coach. I'll order both sizes. Small investment, potentially big return. Thanks again for sharing.

coachbud and nighthawk - if you live in a rural community a local farmer may give you innertubes for free. Ours worked fine last year.

We are looking at purchasing some. How much are they used in your program? We do a tackling progression and some individual tackling drills but are always looking for ways to reduce contact in practice. With a varsity/JV of 50-60 kids, how many would you suggest we buy?

We have 3. We used them everyday of preseason and at least 2 times a week after that. Most of our guys were 2 way guys so we limited contact even more than we probably should have. LBs DBs DLs all get their own during indy. Or if we want to circuit we can still circuit with all 3.

Anybody who has these rings have any drills they've discovered they like the rings for other than the stuff in the videos? Just changed programs and they have 2 of them so I'm trying to think of the best ways to get some use out of them.
I've done a low tackle drill in the past where we rip through a blocker as the runner (a step over bag or an OL board) gets outside, we track the near hip and low tackl it. Seems like the rings could be used in place of the runner/bag in that drill.

Anyone have these yet? I wish they were a little bigger... but thinking of buying 3.. Here's a 52" ring with letters on the side for a "look at what you're tackling" drill: www.krauskollc.com/p/7Tested and approved.
