We are getting some for this summer. I plan to use them all the time. Will save me from having kids drag agility bags behind them for us to tackle. We're getting a medium one and a larger one. But, it's from a different company.

You can find cheaper tackle rings then what Crowther is selling. How big are theirs? I couldn't find dimensions for it.

The site that had the different sizes was overseas.. so shipping would probably eat you up..
I would like some a little bigger.. the Crowther ones look to be about 36" or 48" tall.
I would like some at least 5' tall..

I haven't seen any that are 5' or taller. Maybe there are some, but I haven't found any yet.

My guess is you'll want them shorter than 5ft to encourage players to be low at impact. Being 6'8", the five foot mark on me is at my armpit. Not exactly the height I want my guys attacking. Just my thoughts. Or you could use this...

Yea, the 48" looks to be ideal.. 36" is too short.. the rugby ones look to come in senior and junior sizes.

We just got them through Fisher Athletic, but haven't used them yet. They were a little smaller in person that how I felt they would be while measuring so we'll see how they work this summer.

Yes fisher has 3 sizes, 28" 36" 42" outside diameter
Their 42" weighs 50lbs compared to the rhino rugby that only weighs like 21 at 48"
Would more weight be better for rolling it?

Anyone ever try using these rings for heads up tackling purposes?
We teach roll/shoulder tackling to DB's but want linebackers specializing in shimmy and profile tackles.
Wanting to find tools that help with heads up profile and shimmy tackling other players using bags all the time.

I thought it worked great and yes it was effective as any dummy tackling. d-line coach used it quite a bit on pass rush drills and stopping an escaping QB. I think the fact that it did roll and bounced made it more effective.
as to where we got it = farmer donated it. total cost $0.

Well dang.. Gilman has them up to 60"... find a video with LSU using them.
Price is not too much more either.
I know earlier someone was concerned with them being too high, but you are tackling lower than the top of the pad.

Ok, caught the secretary before she sent the PO.. going to go with the 52" from Gilman.. they have them in 48, 52, and 60..
I saw the ones that Rogers has in the 28", not sure how well those would work.
