I have assigned to give a presentation on how as a coach I prepare kids for the future off the field. Thinking leadership, real life skills, etc. Looking for anything anybody would share I could add to my presentation.

Add in never give up U get knocked down in football and sports just like u do in life, but you have to keep going. U have to finish for the betterment of the team like you do your family. And make sacrifices

A "LEADER" is a person of strong character. Character is a trait learned through diligence and civic morality...it is not given or purchased. It is earned, and the path to earning character is dangerous because...it is blocked by "the easy way out".

So I guess I might add the question- what do you do as a coach to implement these?

This video is the mockup for what will be going into the local theater in another week, I'm getting the video to fill this in sometime this week. This is part of the overall marketing plan I'm working on with the youth organization, going to show this in the theater to get kids (the video) and parents (the voice over/message) to think about signing up. But the voice over might offer some ideas on what football can offer.

Do you monitor players' academic progress and discipline in school? That is teaching them habits that will carry over into the future as well.
Teaching them how to work as a team, how to persevere, how to focus under fire, etc. are all great things to point out, too.

I just did a short essay on this for a Grad School class. If you want me to share it, just DM me, I can email it over.
