We have a teachers night. Have the seniors pick out the favorite teacher they have had in our district, k-12, they wear their away jersey to the game that night and we introduce them in pre game.

Went to a clinic a couple of weeks ago and heard a coach talk about how he gets the Faculty to attend games. The HC writes a letter, in the letter, the HC ask the Faculty to support a Football player, if the staff member agrees to support a Football player; he/she is committed to attend that weeks game, and wear that players jersey, in support of him, and the team. Before you know it you've got a multitude of fans, who are staff members wearing players jersey's.
Pretty simple and it is a great way to build faculty support. I plan on trying it this season.

One thing our coach used to do was have a film night where parents and other members of the community were invited to watch the film of the previous week's game. He'd go into why things worked, what the thought process during the game was, etc. Then afterwards he'd go over the opponent for the game that week and the game plan. One of the mothers usually brought snacks and afterwards people would hang out and talk. I think it was a good way to involve the community. Parents especially seemed to enjoy it, I'm sure they learned something from it, and I think it helped reduce the amount of parents causing problems by questioning the actions of the coaching staff.

Wow, some great ideas -- I like the teachers wearing the kids jersey...
We have a program of honorary coaches of the week for our home games. The honorary coaches may be from the school staff (teachers, administrators, custodial, bus drivers, lunch ladies) or may be boosters, little league coaches or alumni. The honorary coaches try to ATTENd our thursday practice and then get to be on the sidelines and lockerroom for the game. They really enjoy it. We give them a honorary coaches shirt or cap...

the head coach picks them - if you have couple for each week you can involve quite a few people.

We have done sponsor a player. By sponsoring a player for $20.00 the sponsor got a tee shirt with the players number on it and a coupon for a free soda, candy bar, dog, and popcorn at the concession stand.
