"Tressell, someone else couldn't do as good with those resources?"
I also like the idea of coaches that do more with less, and I like your other picks, but to say that about Tressel - and believe me, I am not an OSU fan - he had a pretty good run at Youngstown State prior to be hired at OSU, without nearly the resources that he has now. I for one, gotta give the guy credit.

"I would choose Schiano from Rutgers as the best coach in the East (Maybe the country) Anyone who can turn Rutgers into a football power should be able to walk on water." By that standard? Look at what johnsons did at NAVY? Leavitt at south fla? And I would put spurrier in their in the south and the east..... Navy and South FLa do not have to compete with the same schools as Rutgers. But I would agree that Johnson should be thought of as one of the top coaches in the country. Anyone can coach talent at an established school (Carrol, Tressel, Meyer, etc). That is why I do not buy many of the nominations that have been posted. It takes a very, very good coach to win at a school that is not known as a football power and do it the right way. I f Mangino can keep it going at Kansas, he has to be in the top 5 in the country.
