Lots of us have them... anyone ever re-purposed the space?
Storage is possible...
Just too much room to waste... but not sure what all it can be used for.
Any ideas?

Right now we use our unused showers for storage. I've never really thought about what else it could be used for.

We had a couple of showers that were busted back when I played, we turned them into urinals and called it "No-Man's Land." Even after they fixed the showers years later nobody would shower there if they knew.

What about using deep trash cans and make players take ice baths in the cans in the shower area after practice. You would need an ice maker and a way to get in and out if the cans without falling down. Sent from my SM-N900V using proboards

If you don't have a tape area, you can tape them up there.

Just make sure you don't tell the kids "the showers are for taping."

we stored our bags there, keep the shower heads and everything because you may get some kids that actually want to be clean after practice, I grew up in a old house, we had one bath tub, had a shower in the basement, it wasn't heated in the winter, I always took a shower after practices and we had to take showers after pe

I hung some cheap whiteboards and we got a second projector. This became our second film room. It was great. Primarily an oline film and meeting room.

At the school I just left, we had a large shower area and a restroom area that connected to an old varsity locker room on one side and a very large and mostly unused PE locker room on the other. We converted 3/4 of the PE locker room into a new varsity locker rooms with new lockers, etc. We made the old varsity locker room the JV locker room. Since the showers weren't used, didn't even have hot water (and we had a small set of showers elsewhere in the area), we had them convert the showers into storage space when they put up the walls for the new locker room. They just put in some drywall and a door that could be locked where the shower entrance was.

I'm thinking about converting the training room into an office, and use one of our shower areas as the training room.

Is that a thing? Kids don't use the school showers?
We have the opposite problem. sometimes its hard to get the kids out of the showers and go home.

Lol I coach in the Bay Area, CA and I wouldn't be able to get the kids to shower together in the lockers if I had them at gunpoint. It's just not something we do culturally here. Hell, I'm a grown man and get weirded out by dudes walking around naked in the locker rooms at the gym.

If you're not naked in the locker room how do you shower? If you wear boxers or swim trunks it seems like you're missing the places that most need washing.

Lol Northern Indiana, and idk, I guess its a culture thing here. If the upperclassmen shower, the underclassmen see it as a social norm.

Some things can't be unseen. Like a 65 year old Psych professor drying his sack under the warm air hand dryer.

The school I just left from had shower stalls that had curtains and a few kids would shower... but we also had a few who would go to the toilet stall and shut the door to put their girdle on. Had one kid stand out in the parking lot at an away game and put his girdle on.. right next to the interstate.. butt naked.
A few years back I worked for a guy who was old school. Made everyone wear jocks... and made everyone shower.. most kids actually showered in their jocks..
I would venture to say that lots of showers in the modern day field houses go unused.
