I have read about people using powerpoints on a DVD or through email as a way to set themselves apart in getting a head coaching job. How do you do this? Do you just put your head coach packet on each page? How do you lock the powerpoint down so people can't steal everything off of it when you send it out to different schools?

Great Idea would love to hear how people do this or if they do this and what they put on it.

I could totally make one and make it good. The problem/question I have with this is the logistics/how/when to show it? If you have to bring in a computer, and a projector beam, then it might be more trouble than it is worth. If it is something you can just send to the head honchos to make a picture for them to look at, that is cool. But how would you protect it from getting stolen/borrowed/spread all over the internet?

i know with a pdf file you can save it as a "Read Only" file. I wonder if you can do the same with powerpoint? I will do some checking on it with out tech guru.

Sure you could make it read only but then none of us would be able to see and how is that going to help us.
We're all friends on here we can share, right!!!

My packet and my soon to be made powerpoint will be strictly for me. Worked on it too hard to just give that away to potential competitors for the few HC jobs there are out there.
Love you guys though.

I think the only advantage to using a PP is incorporating some game video. Otherwise, I think there is a preferance for a document in hand.
Putting together packets is a daunting task and an ongoing one. But the process is well worth it. The natural consequences are that you will be more polished for an interview and have a document that really caputres your style and philosophies.

Herky knows a thing or two about packets. She helped me with mine.

In fact, I might hire her out to work on HC packets. She would be good at that.
