What do you coaches consider to be the 4 core lifts that your players MUST do?
I've heard Bench Squat Clean Dead Lift
Why do coaches consider these to be the 4 core dead lifts. If anybody has a different opnnion let me know.

Jet,
I see you posted here and in weight lifting. This is a great topic and I'm sure you will get plenty of responses in the weight lifting board. For future references please read the general info thread at the top of the general board.
Thanks man and enjoy the board.

I've always emphasized cleans over deadlifts. Also I had push press or split-jerk as a core lift. Thus I had two quick lifts and two strength building lifts. I am kind of so-so on cleans and how much benefit we got from them this year. Debating going to deadlifts and using med-balls for the explosive triple extension stuff.Got to make it all fit and not deplete cns.Tall task.Important to note that we're working with High School kids with limited exposure to weights.
