I am a young coach. I am in my fourth year of coaching. Ive only coached skill positions but I have been learning more about offensive line technique and the more I learn the more I like it because I feel like the offensive line sets the tone for an offense and that you can't get away with bad technique and just being a great athlete, which I think you can get away with at the skill position. I guess I am saying that I would like any information that anyone can provide on offensive and defensive line such as techniques and practice routines etc. I played skill positions so I don't have a background at the position. I just seem to be really drawn to these positions over the last year or so as well as the quarterback position. I think this will also help me in my quest to become an offensive coordinator.Thank you guys ahead of time for any information and support. Anything you can think of that would help I would appreciate, including clinics, websites or books you think that I should check out. One warning against books is that I am more of a visual and auditory learner so videos and clinics are better for me. Thanks and hope that all of you are enjoying great seasons.

Coach,
You sound like me 15 years ago. I too played QB/WR but had the opportunity to coach TE/T my first couple of years in coaching. I found that this helped me throughout the years because coaching another offensive skill position seems easier. It is a great base to have if you do desire to become an OC.
My suggestion, call the closest college team in your area and see if your position coach would be willing to meet with you. I did this and was able to meet with me in the offseason and he went over drills and showed me some cutups. It was a great learning experience.

gacoach is right - visiting with college position coaches are great resources, for information as well as getting video to look at and pick up techniques. Also, don't sell your local high school coaches short. Make a phone call or drop in on some of the more successful programs in your area to pick the brains of their coaches. I think you will find most coaches are winning to help someone who comes to them.
