1st and 10 every day; 3rd and long twice; Goalline twice; Short yardage offense only if opponents do something different on that D&D; 2-pt. plays twice a week, 2-minute offense once.
Note: Thursday (day before game) is mostly situational for us and is included in above.
We have one intra-squad scrimmage during two-a-days that we do some situations, and our outside scrimmage is somewhat situational (goalline, 3rd and long, ex.), too.

usually during our Team Offense period, I have the "injured" kids run the chains, and try to get the kids used to ALL situations. I try to make it as much like a game situation, as I can during team.

worked as an assistant the past six years and we NEVER ran situations. We won when we had a lot better players and lost when we were the just a little better, the same or worse.

don't make a big deal about "situations"... i mean, it's not the most important aspect of the day's practice. however, it may be important to at least discuss down/distance with the qb/rec in terms of throwing "uncovered" rather than run the play called.... or whether he should just run the ball for a sure 3 yds or try to throw the drag for a possible 10. certain scenarios will need to be discussed and practiced. but, don't have to work every single down/distance or field location

In HS football, at least in our neck of the woods, people attack or defend schemes more than D&D. So, I think huey is right on as usual.
Goalline and two-minute are givens, as are kicking game (such as giving up a safety or onside kick after a penalty on the PAT).
I keep trying to avoid being the most over-coached team around, but it's hard. I'm one of those Paranoid-Schizophrenics where if everything isn't written down or repped one more time, my BVDs get tight.
Fortunately, as I get older, my "Some-timers" aids me in the effort to let the coaches coach and the players play more without my screwing them up.
