i have to laugh at this whole thing. it is a media blowup. the media runs this country and they have to make mountains out of mole hills.
joey porter is all about joey porter. joey is inlove with himself. he talks a good game but does not always play a good game IMO.

Im really not partial one way or the other on what Porter said. I found his comments laughable but at the same time they could be motivational.

always thought that if you aren't motivated until someone says something, are you really that good for the team? if you are motivated to play, how will a comment get you "more" motivated? is there such a thing?

I really enjoyed Porter's comments...now one could argue he's being malicious...but hasn't Ray Lewis done this in the past? Aren't the "old school" guys reknowned for doing this?
It will be a big stage for both participants and any psychological advantage could be used as a wedge to get someone to choke.
What's the difference if Porter says this in the paper, or to the TE's face on the field?
Chipping away at his confidence will only lead him to question himself when Porter (and mates) get after him early....I suppose

all I know is reggie white of the eagles and packers had the greatest trash talk line.
he would look at the offensive tackle or te who was to block. He would call them by their first name and say, Pete Jones, have you accepted Jesus Christ as your personal savior.
the ot that I knew would not say anything. He said if you did, reggie would start lecturing out about your sinful life and how you were going tohell.
some guys would curse him and that made it even worse as he woudl then start qouting bible verses.

All I know is I want Porter in the alley with me! I really like what he said about TE's. "have you ever met a TE that scared you?" Great stuff. If I could only find a Joey Porter in the halls....
He talks the kind of trash I can appreciate. Aggressive, tough, and mean. Not that pansy stuff about guarding someone or weak "can't hold me" BS coming from most NFL and NBA players.

porter was just quoting the scouting report, it's not like its news to any DC in the league that Stevens cant block his way through a bunch of old ladies in the supermarket on double coupon tuesday. Why do you think over 300 running plays this year by the seahawks have gone to the weakside? Porter was just being porter and quoting nothing but the scouting report.
