I ask this as I see a lot of problems with coaches and players getting HS rules mixed up with what they watch on TV with the NFL and college game.
So I want to make a list of rules that are different in HS.
What rules do you see players, coaches, and parents screwing up the most ? (going to do a Football 101 nights for the parents).
Thanks!
PS- I have not been posting much on sites but this one has really came on lately and I can see some great coaches posting on here with valuable advice!!!

haha....really... 3 that make me scratch my head are: 1) an ineligible having to "report" in college/high school, therefore, making him eligible....are you kidding me? 2) face-guarding in college/high school....no such thing 3) the 5 yard "jam" rule in college/high school.....contact - other than holding the receiver - is allowed all over the field as long as the ball is NOT in the air.

My Favorite- Coaches who don't know about the "Defer to the 2nd half" rule on the coin toss. Only works about once a year, but the scream from the opposite sidelines when the other coach realizes he has to kick off to me TWICE is priceless.

That there is no such thing as being outside the tackle box and that you must have 5 lineman numbers

How about a forward handoff-inside handoff to a man lined up on on the line of scrimmage, such as when a team hands the ball of to a TE on an inside counter- just like he's pulling but he gets the ball. I think its a stupid rule and any linemen that is to be a eligible ball carrier should have to take a handoff from behind the QB.

Initially misread your post... I like that TE counter.

Parents and pass interference, can't believe that the ball does not go to the spot of the foul/
