I was standing on the sidelines of a friend of mine and saw compound fracture take place.
it was ugly to say the least.
how does a training staff perpare for that? I felt bad for the kid. the emt's were across the field and took plenty of time to get there. about 10 minutes to get the bus there to take him to the hospital. good thing there was a doctor on the field.
kid is all right. he had surgery with in a hour of it happening. he is hoping to play baseball in the spring.
all this made me rethink about having a actual plan with the emt's and actually having a trial run through.
