We have a league meeting coming up and I am running an Offense I have never ran before, I know, I know, *ducks vegetables* and I need to know if there are any questions I should clarify with them before the season starts that might conflict with my offense. It's a golden opportunity.
Here is the offense: Wing T, multiple motion, 8-10ys.
I already know that I will have to make sure they approve my linemen's heads at the waist of the center's, to properly execute my plays.
Is there anything i'm forgetting?? Anyone ever have refs question at this age group or problems on field due to their own inexperience at seeing this type of system? I don't want to find out on the field the hard way. Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.
I have read this entire site regarding new controversial things to watch out for but is there anything i'm missing, or have you ever had a problem, at this level, with this system that isn't mentioned?
I should add, I have read the league rules but not ones specific to playing, i'm sure they have one for this year and will pick it up in a week. I am going by last years rules which I know and didn't affect us last year in any way, but we were running the I. *ducks some more vegetables and a brick from Ted and Bill*
Thanks!

coachjim-
I am a little confused as to what your question really is? If you are using the WING-T as an offense I wouldnt consider that controversial by any means, unless there is a specific rulein your youth league against it. I would look at your league rules (any year would do but this years would be best) and see what they "limit" in the league. In my years of coaching in youth leagues offenses are almost never regulated, but you will see limited types of defenses and what they are allowed to do. The key is just make sure your kids are taught the fundamentals really well, they havefun, and they can enjoy the sport. Always remember that you chose to do this for the kids and not your own personal achievements.

there is nothing wild about the offense. Your biggest concern should be the YOUTH LEAGUE REFs who may not fully understand how to officiate a double dive / cross-bucking / speed sweep trapping offense.
Power, trap, counter, toss, veer.....if you can execute a good wing-T you may have to coach up / tell the refs what to look for before the game starts, before they foul things up with bad calls.

I had the meeting, there are two things I have to watch out for it looks like. One, is making sure the QB doesn't move his hands while the man is in motion, they will call two men in motion, and the second, is there is a chance their might be inadvertant whistles when the Ref or LJ think the wrong kid got tackled in the misdirection. The rule here states that in an inadvertant whistle, the team who last had the ball can accept the play or do it over.
That was the outcome of the what to look out for, FYI. Thanks for your input on this, all.
