How do you feel about the program? Is it worth it? Easy or difficult to use? Any thoughts would be appreciated! Thanks, Mike

i like it ok. its easier to use now that you can directly input stuff into the cpu. the palm pilot is a little cumbersome imo.
don't try to imput into the pp while watching a game or film, never be able to keep up. have to chart by hand and then imput.
i would rather use oine of the digital video editors they have out there, a little easier to use and you can cut up film and make dvds directly form the program. these are more expensive but well worth it imo.

FYI - You can apply to get a $5,000 digital editing system for nothing. Over the last couple of years, a bunch of us coaches on this site have applied and recieved the software for free. I know.. it sounds too god to be true. But it is true. We used it last season and were very happy with it. Makes digital scout look like a toy. The reason it's free is because the owner gets a 'sponsor' to donate the funds to them for each copy they provide to high schools. (sponsors like the NFL/NFL Players assoc, USA Football) These large entities like to sponsor youth and high school prgrams.. good PR. Check it out: www.proscoutvideo.com

How do you feel about the program? Is it worth it? Easy or difficult to use? Any thoughts would be appreciated! Thanks, Mike We have been using it for 4yrs and our stat man cannot live without it. They have upgraded the software every year and they have improved it with every upgrade. The statman has a "spotter" that walks the sidelines with him to help with numbers and what not. When the game is over we take the palm to my room and we print all the stats in 5 minutes. I am very happy with digital scout.......save many hours versus the old paper charts.

Same things Tribe said. I got it a few years ago and now that you can input directing onto the computer I really like it. Good solid program.

For live games, if you have a person(s) dedicated to inputting the data, that's the ultimate. For self scouting after your game, you could merge the data with the video editing system and watch the game with down/dist/los/play, etc immediately. Does anyone ever use a handheld to scout film?

We recently got a program. And aside from the inital plugging in the info. We really like it . the program can give us as little or as specific info as we want. And the more you use it the easier it becomes.
