Recently we seem to have had a rash of newer posters who have gotten peoples' hackles up by getting personal. Guys, we don't do that here. There are boards that allow that and they're often a mess. That's why there is a Huey's.
This is a discussion board. Personal attacks and name-calling do not stimulate discussion. If you disagree with someone, articulate your disagreement in such a way that it can be discussed in a reasonable manner. If you can't do that, if the best that you can do is personal insults, maybe your thoughts aren't as well-formed as you thought. We're all adults here. Let's act like it by treating each other with respect.

What I typed wasn't professional, or was emotional so I'll start over.

Noted. So used to other poor forums and negative comments. I'm not used to people actually just being real or using sarcasm and how tough it is to translate that here. Sorry again for my part in this manner. Overall love huey and wouldn't wanna see it negatively effected by my use.

Sorry again for my part in this manner. Overall love huey and wouldn't wanna see it negatively effected by my use. I think that's a big part of it. We've grown so accustomed to trolls that when there's a board where people are just keeping it real, we fly off the handle. That, and it's not like it's easy for us to have someone say that what we are doing isn't the most efficient way to go about doing it.

I believe Huey's has a done a very nice job keeping the Trolls at bay especially when you consider how many Members there are now and its free. I am a Moderator on dumcoach and its tough sometimes. Some people just do not communicate well using the written word although that does take some practice.
Thanks for keeping this place real. Seen one too many Forums go down the tubes over the last 10-12 years...or become closed societies which is worse IMO.
I cant even begin to tell all of you how much I learn here as a daily visitor. Its appreciated.

I've been a "hueyite" since 2006. A few years ago, at least in my opinion, there was a tone on this site that was rather negative. Even the sarcastic comments bordered on personal. I went away for a few years. When I returned this past year, I was very pleased to see that the tone had become much more supportive and positive. I can also say, (back then) I was younger and may not have been able to adapt to the "personality" of the site at the time. For any newer posters, here are a few things that helped me over the years (I'm sure others can add to this list): 1) Have some thick skin. Not everyone is going to agree with you. Debate is not necessarily a bad thing. fantom helped me realize this. 2) Come in with an open mind. If you have an agenda/opinion regarding a post, make it clear, otherwise you will most likely get challenged or questioned on it. 3) If you have an agenda/opinion regarding a post, be prepared to defend it, or prepared to alter it. 4) Come in with more questions, than answers. Though the forum is full of knowledgeable men who can provide help/instruction, no one likes the guy who has ALL the answers. I personally get a kick out of the guys like blb who have been coaching for over 30 years, but still seek council. 5) Another coach has under his tag line: 'if you ask a general question, you will get a general answer.' So, if you want a specific answer on something, be as specific as possible with your question. (There are always the few that will question your post as opposed to answering it, but eventually someone will come along with help). I appreciate this site and commend the moderators for their diligent efforts to preserve the culture.

I have had my board since 2001. I have a different approach to Huey in that I let in other talk...about anything. The thing I do with trolls? Ban them, their ISP, everything. I think I have about 125 members. Also, I have 3 hidden boards that nobody can see until you have a certain amount of posts. That is where the action is...so the lurkers and trolls can toil in the general area. Keep up the great work Coach Huey and others. PS - Here is my board. reelsportreplay.proboards.com/Have a good 4th fellers.
