I am interested in building a team room/field house complex near our stadium for the football team. Our school is a fair walk from the stadium and the added space would help some other issues we currently have.
I am hoping that I can get some ideas from other programs who did similar things. We're looking for something simple like a pole barn rather than what with team rooms, meeting rooms, etc framed off inside along with storage space. Most of what I find by googling ends up being a really expensive project that would require a lot more than what we need or want at this point.
Any suggestions or ideas?

Do you currently have a locker room at the field ? What all are you wanting to do at the field house being built?

Our team rooms are in the main building which is probably 300 yards or more from the stadium. We have to share the team room with other sports from season to season, so it's hard to invest a lot in the space. We'd like a coaches office as well as a meeting space to watch film, chalk talk, etc. Currently we have to walk across the building to do that now which is tough with cleats, etc.

We have a pretty long hike as well, supposedly once we build a real stadium we will have a locker room, coaches office, and equipment rooms on the first floor and the bleachers built up around it.

There's some good DIY sites that have plans for several different sized sheds or cabins. I think a longhouse-style would be easiest if the plot of land permits it. What sort of space are you looking at?

What sort of space are you looking at? We have gobs of land. Finding a cheap way to bring in plumbing and electrical is a concern as well as the overall plan for the space. Because we have so much property, over time people have just put things down without an idea for the big plan.

I don't know much about this but you'd better make sure to find out if you'll need permits for this.

Running the electric and maybe the plumbing from the school out to the building may be something the maintenance department can do. Might be worth looking into.

Running the electric and maybe the plumbing from the school out to the building may be something the maintenance department can do. Might be worth looking into. Currently, we have a concession stand, bathrooms, a covered area and an extra concession stand that sort of form a large rectangular pole building that we think could be stripped down to the studs and then turned into a couple team rooms and showers, etc. We'd have to build a concession stand in it's place (and probably bathrooms) but I think that might be the direction we head.
