What do you do with a great qb who is changing running plays to pass plays in order to show off his talents. the pass plays are working but he does not do what you want him to do?
also, what about wr who run crappy routes but they get by on such great athletic ablity?

Easy answer sit them. Just that simple. They want playing time more then anything so deny them what they want most and you'll get their attention.

1... sit him or somehow get him under control --- otherwise, mutiny is on the horizon
2... evaluate my play-calling. why are the pass plays working but i am not calling them? what am i not seeing? is it trust in everyone?
3... explain the basics of the "team" concept .. i.e we can't throw it EVERY down, so we do need to take advantage of certain defensvie looks and that may be a run or a short throw rather than you merely going deep because you want to show off the arm --- learn to play the game rather than merely throw a ball around
