Mondays are our light days. We watch film and send the kids home at the bell. We don't keep them after school.

On Mionday we: lift, watch our film then maybe a little of the opponent, then go out in shorts and helmets for scouting report and game plan plus some very light conditioning.

athletic period: 20 minute special teams meeting (film, report, etc.) followed by 25 minute weight session after school: 15 minute position meeting then 2 hour practice with 17 of the 23 periods always devoted to individual or group drills. only do 2 periods of no-hurry, up tempo offense - rest of team is more walk/talk before snapping the ball.

Our kids lift at 6:30 a.m. three times per week so lifting isn't involved. This is a very light day for recovery and mental prep. Watch our game film. Watch a portion of opponent film (unless they really stink, then we don't bother) Go over scouting report (offense/defense/special teams) Conditioning. Send them home.

We play about half of our games on Saturday night. On those instances, we will lift and film on Monday. We start at 3:30 and get done by 6 PM.
Then: Tuesday is all individual - both sides of the ball - my guys play both ways Wednesday is D - Indy / Group / Team Thursday is O - Indy / Group / Team Friday - O and D - run through about a script of 15 plays each.
We sprinkle in about 20 to 30 minutes of special teams each Tues - Thursday. On Friday they can take as long as they need. Typically about 20 minutes.
If we play on Friday night, I adjust by doing less film on Monday and getting to the field to do about 30 to 40 minutes of Indy. Then Tuesday would be a D Day, Wednesday an O day, and Thursday would be our script day.
If we need extra time to prepare, then we can always film them up on Saturday, but I am trying to give the kids as much time off as possible this year. Trying the less is more approach.

And then 15 minutes for warmups? Just seems like a lot of time between end of film and indie time.
