I hear coaches that run a spread system will read the box to determine if they will run or pass (5 = Run, 6 = Pass) If you are a read team could that number jump to 6 = Run 7 = Pass? That being said if you went to a TE set would that number jump up one more? I am just wondering. Thanks.

We dont have a run pass check on each snap, but we have a run/bubble pass check on our IZ/OZ plays from shotgun. We generally have a TE and if we see 2 safeties, we like our odds running the football. Our check consists of a pre-snap read and our Z and QB have a communication system that if we have numbers, our QB throws the bubble. If we dont have numbers for the bubble, then that means we have the numbers to run. Then we read the BS DE and go from there.
