Realized this post is better here...
What do you think of the Lev Sled?
We have a 5 man Mod sled but our Oline coach says it teaches them bad technique as they have to cheat to drive it and they dont hip explode and rise like you would on a Lev Sled (and hopefuly in a game).
So thinking about buying a Lev Sled (with a small budget).
Thoughts?

From what I have seen, the Rogers line of sleds is specific to the type of blocking that the offensive line is doing.
A running team would see greater benefit from one type of sled and a passing team would see a greater benefit from another type of sled. Using the wrong sled is like using the wrong tool to do a job on a construction site; it will get done, but not as well as when you use the right tool for the job.
I always liked the Power line sled (I think that was the name). The last sled that I bought (two years ago) was a Crowther sled. The Crowther is lighter than the Rogers and the players are better able to unlock the hips and rise on the sled. I just believe that these type of sleds are better for teaching run blocking. The Mod sled is a good sled, but I don't think that it was designed for drive blocking like the Crowther or the Power line, although it can be done.
The players will hit, unlock their hips and strike on the rise if they are taught and made to do that. It doesn't matter what type of sled they are on. Some sleds lend themselves to being driven better than others. If you don't see it in practice, it isn't going to happen in a game.
I don't know whether or not this will all help. I know what it's like to have a small budget and I'd want to collect as much information as I could before I plunked down the hard earned money on a piece of equipment as important as this.

Coach -
I personally am not a big fan of 5-man sleds. Too easy to cheat and too hard to adequately watch all five guys at once. I think that they have little value other than some conditioning.
If you do go with a LevSled, check out the two-man version. We bought one a few years ago and really like it. Obviously, if you are a big high school, it would be tough to use with a large group, but the 2-man works well for us because we don't have a lot of kids.

I agree 100%, The Mod sled is great for teaching punching, driving, explosion, etc. The lev sleded teaches leverage and hip roll better. Both have advantages and disadvantages for the defense too. Guess the only prudent thing would be to beg the budget handler for one of each!
