We bought 12 of the schutt DNA's this past fall and our kids loved them. They are about 30.00 more per helmet than the schutt pro air, but I think as far as ease for fitting kids and how comfortable the kids said they are, we are going to buy another 24 for next season.
If your going to buy shoulder pads this is the time of the year to buy them. Usually the companies have specials up until the 15th of January. I think the deal we received on our shoulder pads was for every 6 pair we bought we received 1 free pair.

Do you guys have any recommendations as far as where to go to get shoulder pads, Helmets, and thigh/knee/hip pads? Websites? Thanks in advance!! Also the team that I am coaching might be interested in some Wireless headsets, is there a place where we might get some good quality used sets?

Headsets-Porta-a-phone, Coachcomm, Motorola, Midland, any communications company will have them. Make sure you have secure channels and multiple channel capacity. Have seen teams at games cross feeding each other becasue they were on the same frequency.
Helmets- Schutt, Riddell, Bike (someone told me Schutt bought them out, is this true?) are good inexpensive helmets. Punch those names into google to get the sites.
Shoulder pads-Pro Team is cheap, but good quality, Douglas-the best but expensive, Riddell, very good but also a little pricey, not as bad as Douglas. A lot of teams buy Douglas for skill plays for the better protection and then use pro team for the rest of the kiddos.
Leg pads-Pro Team is very cheap, almost half of the major brands, a thigh pad is a thigh pad, IMO, not much need to buy the most expensive here.

we are in VA and use a company out of MS, called Tucker Manufacturing from Batesville. they're great. there are tons of other companies that you can use though. Our AD has used this one for years, and they really do give you a good price and good service. We already have our helmets back from when they were collected the 3rd week in November. About the Schutt DNAs, I would buy as many of those helmets as possible. Like Brophy said, our kids loved them. Said they were the most comfortable one's they've ever worn. Tucker also sells shoulder pads that they make. Pretty good prices, butI'm not as well versed as ogie and others.
