indeed, i do.
Coaches, let me outline my current situation. I'm a 19 year old, German college student living in Europe. I used to attend an international school which also featured a DODDS school. Unfortunately - back then - I didn't really appreciate football and ended up only playing soccer at school (which after graduating I joined again as an assistant coach - yay, I am a coach too!). Now that I am in college I was looking to try a new sport, got interested in football and joined a local team in the beginning of the year. Mind you, the organization as such you would probably classify as "semi-pro" (level of play is rather amateur though).
Anyway, let's get to the more important stuff. The team only features two coaches and we only practice twice a week. It's quite troublesome for me to really learn the sport with the coaches obviously having to put emphasis mainly on the starters and the battle for a championship. I hate not being of value-adding nature to the team and am dedicated to change this, whatever it takes.
They're trying to have me play cornerback - but I feel like all i know about it so far, is to backpedal and not get beat deep.
The first and easiest step for me to become a football player is to start lifiting. And so i did.
Now, what I am looking for is recommendations on how to really gain knowledge about the sport, position and plays. Of course, I have seen various online shops that sell coaching tapes and books and so forth. Problem is, I don't know which ones would really help me. Importing things from the states is of course quite costly for me, but I am willing to make this investment. Surely a better investment than fancy clothing and partying; to me at least.
Very long story short, what would you recommend me to buy and do to turn myself into a football player?
Thanks coaches, your help will be greatly appreciated!
