forgive me, but I just don't find the hatred that some folks find in soccer. I'd prefer our kids play soccer over baseball (or basketball) any day of the week.
The leg power and foot coordination 80% of those kids have is phenomenal. Most of the soccer players we've had also have played rugby
I hate to take the contrarian view to this, but it is one helluva athletic sport.
Soft kids will be soft no matter what sport they play..

I agree with brophy here (hence my apology on the previous page)
And honestly, I don't think many people truly hold an anomosity to the sport itself...I think it is more the proliferation of the "select/travel" soccer culture that has grown the last 20 years or so combined with the kind of "long stringy hair, flip-flop wearing, hackey sack playing Cal Berkley" persona that many soccer players emulate.

I am really touched by Brophys and 5085´s remarks...I take back my remarks and apologize to anyone I have hurt or caused any pain. I now will be entering rehab and have talked to my Local Pastor and with his help I hope to overcome this problem that has lead to so much misunderstanding.
