Hey coaches, Last game of the season is coming up this week and I'm looking for some ideas to motivate them for the last game. Unless I scream and yell, we come out flat. I'm running out of things to scream and yell about. Looking for something to really get them going before the game. Sayings, videos... anything you got. Thanks in advance

Put a focus on fundamentals. Run, Block, Tackle.

To me, the last game speech is the easiest. You remind the seniors that this is their last HS game and, for most of them, the last organized game of football they'll ever play. For the underclassmen, this is the first game of next year. Challenge them to build momentum for 2009. If you have to yell and scream those things for them to get it, then do it. Different teams respond to different things and you do what you gotta do.

We try to tell them that this is the senior's last game and that we want them to leave on a winning note. As far as the underclassmen, this is the opportunity to have something to build on in the 2008 season. To accomplish this we must strive to execute all three phases of the game with fundamentals (steps, drive, blocking surface, hard running, wrapping up on our tackles as we drive our feet, no turnovers, few penalties, etc.).
