Coaches I was curious to see what questions you ask coaches when you want to learn their system. I'm just seeing if I might of missed something. Thanks.

If you are learning their offense pretend you are defending it. What would you do? Then ask what would they do if the defense did....
Also, what is the most difficult part of (insert concept here) to teach and learn?

How do you install/teach this?
How has your system changed with time (a lot of times this can help prevent me making mistakes they found and fixed several years ago)?
I often ask coaches about their "answers" to certain things. "Ok, so you like running inside zone at the 1 technique so they adjust by going with 2 head up DT's (or an odd front), what do you do next?"
I also ask "Why" a lot. Why is it a speed out instead of a regular out. Why do you have him split 6 yards from the tackle instead of 10. Why do you put your tackles in a 2 point stance and guards in a 3?

How do you teach the various techniques used in the system. Practice ideas, installation schedule, what are the biggest problems they face, etc.

How can I screw this up?
(this is probably one of the best questions you can ask.......of practically anything).
