I come from a school with small numbers. We have alot of trouble keeping our kids focused and the intensity at a high level. Each day we swap, offense 1st followed by defense. The next day the reverse. Practices are good for the group which goes 1st and awful for the 2nd. Any comment or ideas on how to mix it up, make it more fun?

We two platoon where I am at but I know of some pretty successful coaches that will swap day to day. Monday=all offense, Tuesday=all defense, Wednesday=both.

We generally swap days, with some exception on Monday, on which we have a mix with an offensive emphasis. Tuesday is defense, Wednesday is offense, Thursday special teams w/ offensive script run through.

IF you are lucky to have an Athletic Period.....
Off Run group/Inside Hull (Or Defense)during the Period, Indo & Team After School...then Switch....I have found that moving out a 20 Min segment....When you do the switch the 2nd segment is better...

In my post season interviews I had some kids say that they hated how we did the same things at practice. Our practices were the same, Monday was the same every week, tuesday was tuesday and so on.
Who really changes their schedule alot? I kind of think I just had kids wnating to complain when they could, because like I said evey day of the week was different.

Yeah - end of year surveys typically turn out that way....
Though - I think if COACHES have enthusiasm in practice (and look forward to it) the KIDS will get enthusiasm (and have fun).
