yesterday in the class 2A championship game in Minnesota we had a team defeat another team 70-21. The winning team kept most of it starters in until late and threw the ball more in the 2nd half than they did in the first. Went for 2 on the last 2 TD's! The score at half was 47-7. Why would you not pull the dogs off?

its not there job to make your team look respectable is what some would say.... if you are up by 40 at half, its time to start looking towards the future on both sides

I saw that game and didn't think it was your normal 70 point thumping. They were up 28-0 4 minutes into the game after a couple of turnovers (I believe both inside the 10) and a punt return. It didn't even seem like their offense was on the field at all in the 1st half. It was one long play after another. In a regular season game I would have pulled the starters after the 1st drive of the second half. However with it being a state championship and the fact that I think his offense probably only had 15-20 snaps in the 1st half I am not sure that I would have left the kids in longer to let have some more playing time during the championship game. As far as the 2 point conversations go, I know there kicker missed 2 or 3 PAT's, but that is the only logic I could come up with on why to go for 2.
