I said Florida did not deserve to be in the National Championship game. I am now here to eat my words. Should I eat them plain, or may I add a condiment to help get them down?

well, i don't think you have any reason to eat crow. who's to say, now, that ohio state belongs? lol, of course i'm not being totally serious, but the bcs will always give us scenarios such as this. osu hasn't played in like 51 days. florida has had a whole month to devise their scheme. same thing for many of the other teams in their bowls. with a playoff system, i still think one of the "big dogs" will win it all, but the bowls definitely allow cinderella to win more often, don't you think?

Give Urban & Mullen credit--I don't think anyone would want to play their offense after they have had over a month to prepare. Some nice wrinkles (love the I-bone on the goalline!) to an already creative offense. I am sure they have some Boise St. trickery in the playbook but no need to use it.

I am disappointed in TOSU. They are not representing the big ten very well. they can be spread in the big ten cause they have athletes in the big ten.
Line up and play old style football. woody ball. you pound on the teams like florida you do not try to match speed with them.
still think wisconsin was the best big ten team this year. they beat their sec team. I would have like to see the wisconsin oline vs the small florida line.
just a side not here, wisconsin just added some lineman. kind of small they say 6-8 and 325 pounds and they can move. plus a rb who is big.

I just hope Teebow can live up to all of this hype...
He's going to have to be "Lebron James" to meet these expectations...
However, with Harmon to throw to... if they can rebuild the defense... they may be able to go .500 in that tough SEC!

Saw him play some HS ball... he was a nice competitor... strong arm.. good accuracy... but the pressure... especially being the national champions... they are going to see everyone's best game... and LSU, Georgia, South Caro, Auburn, Alabama... well, maybe not so much Alabama... He's going to feel it!
Also... Why does that 41-14 score seem so familiar?
Oh yeah...
That's what the AP / Coaches POLL / BCS #2 team in the nation lost by...
Hmmm... #1 lost 41-14... and #2 lost 41-14...
If I knew it would end up this embarrassing... I too would have lobbied for an All Big Ten rematch!
How silly does that sound?

How about Chris Leak? This has to really satisying for him after all of the abuse that has been heaped on him the last 4 years.
I will enjoy watching Leak get a well-deserved shot in the NFL.

ketchup is disgusting...so I don't have any. But, I still don't like the way this system works out. It always seems to tick me off every year. Of course, Florida would kick butt and make the BCS look great.
I guess the real championship game really should have been Florida vs LSU.....or USC.....or Boise State....yes, I found a way to make the BCS suck again.

I echo those sentiments... I don't have a good feel for how tall he is... but the kid has been a leader at every level of the game... seems to be very accurate when given time... I know Chicago will be looking... but we've had disastrous luck... with florida QB's... California QB's.... Ohio QB's... Hell... we suck with the QB's... Maybe we should just stick with RB's... But hell, we've had disastrous luck with RB's...

And not enough was said about that! Tebow was a damn rock star... entire stadium calling for his start... Leak... everytime... and I mean everytime... slapped his hand, and was the first to pat his back... That kid is class... and he's going to be ok... I remember back in the day at the Army All star game... first time I saw the kid play... and at that time... he demonstrated leadership, poise and class... Hope he gets a long look in the Pros!

tebow would be the prototype qb in the offense of my dreams yea I could see him be a great lead blocker as a qb in the huge wyatt's double wing. lord knows he would run over the pulling guard adn tackled.

How can you run an opening kickoff back, and proceed to be down 20 at half? ( Ummm...let your star/moron WR/KR specialist injure himself during the obligatory post-TD celebration?

Ginn's injury appears to be a result of an excited teammate. check out the third pic on the slideshow. www.usatoday.com/sports/gallery/college/football/flash.htm?gdrop1=Bowls

How can you say the 51 day layoff hurt OSU, and then in the same breath say that Florida's 34 days was an advantage? Doesn't make sense to me. Florida was the better team, last night, at week one, at any time during the season. They play the best competition in the SEC, a conference far superior to the Big Ten as far as competition.

slydaddy, before you go getting all riled up ... i was simply throwing out what people would be saying this morning (which they are all over the net). as in, those were 2 statements people were likely to use as reasons for the debacle. i'm not slinging mud at anyone. i have no vested interest in this thing. i was NOT making excuses for anyone. i was simply trying to appease a poster who had the courage to step forward and say "i was wrong" ... so, in my attempt to basically say "hey, no need, you were in the majority" i tried to show some understanding by throwing out what i figured to be the 2 most likely statements going around today.
seems like i was pretty close

Old Big Ten football between the tackles would not have got it done either against the Florida defense. Look at the third and one and the dreaded fourth and one on back to back plays in the second quarter. Forget the QB's where did they get all those D-lineman? ?
