Our Head Coach is looking change from LRS to DSV. How good is DSV? really! They main questions to consider is what about LRS did your HC not like -- the data enty, reporting, support, etc.? btw - we also weren't impressed with much from LRS. DSV is a really good product. Also check out Webb Electronics systems. They've been doing it the longest and have a dedicated support staff who's very knowledgable. They have a few high profile customers like th Dallas Cowboys, NO Saints, lots of D1 colleges from the Texas region. With DSV your support will probably be your sales guy. But they may have finally hired a support staff(it's been a major complaint) -- ask them. Another one to look at is XOS SportsEdit. It's used primarily by D1 and the pros. Coachcomm has a high school(ie trimmed down/cheaper) version. I'd make sure your support is through XOS, not Coachcomm. Lastly, look at Proscout. A major NFL organization will donate the cost of the software(unlimited copies) for you. That's the road we went and happy we did. Looked pretty good whne we had the money($4-5000) already earmarked for an editing system, then recieved it for free. Used the saving for an extra computer and other things for the kids.

Oz, we had a demo last year, we really liked it, looks awesome. Tech support is as good as your sales person, some people have had a terrible experience, others have had nothing but praise. Tech support is very important so make sure you have a good sales guy if you do with DSV.

We were one of DSV first customers. The software has really grown and they improve it year to year based upon coaches recommendations. I really started to utillize it more this season. By seasons end I was giving my players CD-ROMs that had game plans and cut up clips of each of the favorite runs and passes. The kids all told me how much they liked them. Our players who go both ways get less fillm time overall so it was a great help. You can customize your cut ups into your own needs. So if I want to find all the plays from a formation I can pull it up. I can find all pass plays that were run on 3rd and short, etc. The tech support is great. Also our head coach uses the system to make a highlight tape of general plays and then on for each player indiviually with music playing in the background.

We got it this past year and love. A little time consuming up front, as with any computer program, but well worth. You will be able to do anything you want.

it all started with the invoice for the support renawal and that we where not happy with the tech support, it just seemed they(LRS) were never there. Remember, with any software support program - it's optional. I guarantee if you tell them you're looking around because you weren't happy with the support, they'll give you a year or two for free. Or just drop the support. A great way to do this is to find another team using LRS. Also, if it's not specific to LRS, you can always come here -- there's a few folks here who know quite a bit about digital editing systems.

as one can figure, i'm a big believer in dsv over any other program. i've been using it since it came to texas (was one of 1st schools here to switch to it) and i firmly believe it has tremendously benefited our game preparation and made us much more efficient than what we had used previously (i won't say as i'm not into "negative" advertisment or trying to persuade someone to switch) all i'll say is it is well worth the investment.

It is the best system around. I used it for four years at my high school. The college I work for has been using it for two years...networked system integrated into coaches office, remote controls, laptops...awesome. The HFC used pinicle at his last stop and made the switch
p.s. see who is using it--talk to them you will find out the real deal.
I can give you the names of schools who dumped lrs for dsv.
By the way carmen policys son dan runs proscout and daddy got the nfl to ante up. good for free but far from good

If we can afford it, I think the HC is ready to change.
