As someone that has been around the football internet message board scene for a while, one of the biggest pet peeves I have is seeing a new topic in a section I know I am interested in and seeing this
"hey coach, can you send me this? please email me at coachblahblahblah@yahoo.com"
Those threads will be moved to the trading post section. Please share things you know how to do, or share ideas that you like. Please don't just make things available for people to take/steal/borrow when they haven't actually made the effort to truly understand them from the people that know.
Don't just be a USER on this site. There are plenty of sites out there on the internet for that. There are plenty of football message boards that have turned into that due to lack of moderation and effort of the people that run them. Let us make this a better message board than that.

I agree 100%. Nothing irritates me more than a 30 post thread consisting of 28 posts of email addresses. If you have something to say share it.

If you guys ever see a post that has turned into that kind of mess, let me know. I will move it to the trading post.
If someone is looking for something, then post it there.
Otherwise, keep the main boards free of that crap. We all want as much info as we can get, but there is so much more you can learn from an actual coach conversing with you than just reading a playbook cold from the internet.

I've enjoyed this site...have never really been involved with something like this. Hopefully this remains a form for coaches to bounce ideas off one another. Personally, a few years ago I moved from a city that had 30+ schools playing high school football to a county that has 5...I don't have the same opportunity to see other coaches as I did, so this board has been a good thing. I like it too that all coaches- big/small school, seasoned veteran/ first year guy, high school coach/youth coach are willing to share with one another and learn from one another. Football is a great game; there are so many "right ways" to do something...it always makes me feel good when I see others who are just as obsessive, committed (or should be) and focused as I am to my love for this sport. Keep up the good work. "seven years of college down the drain...might as well join the $%&* peace corps"

I agree with that being a bit of a peeve, so here's my "+1" tog. Senator, I know what you mean about having a forum like this to learn and trade from. I live in a county thats 250 miles from civilization, and has six high schools in it, not a one with more than 800 students. (take that back, think Eureka is up to a 1000 now...) Add to that the "ole Boyz network" is pretty sever here. Half the guys that coach on teams in Humboldt went to school together. Add to that they many of them are rather clannish, not wanting to share much in the way of ideas for fear that you are going to use it against them.

Also
If you are going to post blatant advertisements trying to sell videos or books that you have made, just post them in the trading post area. And just there.
