Insert shitbird response of.......... the one that doesn't lose yards, or turn the ball over Heard Barry Switzer on TV last year say that "the zone read play is the best play in football" Not sure if i totally agree with him. For me its not one play that is best but what play is best for what ive got on the field? Inside Zone, Outside Zone, Quick Game, Sprint Out, or Pray For us last year it was outside zone toss, we hung our hat on that play video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-2531941131655339446[gvid]-2531941131655339446[/gvid]

let's look at it like this: what play gets the most bang for it's buck. what i mean by this is what play is pretty easy to install and teach to the kids, but is still a consistent producer on offense? on a different note: what exactly is a shitbird? this was an actual question in our coaches' office this week. the coach who was asking was joking, but I still thought it was funny.

Our favorite play is Double Dive Belly.
I've heard a lot of Wing-T coaches and ex-players refer to the Waggle Pass as the best play in football. There's probably an argument there too...

Your team scoring on a big pass play after the other team turns the ball over.

Off-tackle Power.
Good enough for Woody, good enough for my average kids.

Best play in football as answered by...
...wing-t coach: Buck Sweep ...double wing coach: SUPER POWER ...power I smashmouth coach: Offtackle power ...spread (passing guy) mesh ...spread (run guy) zone read ...option coach: midline ...belly coach: Belly 2nd back
Seriously though IMO I think the best play is the 2nd back dive in the belly series, especially if it comes from a full house backfield so thier is a lead back. But this is not a stand alone play, and actually the best plays all have complementary plays within the series. Wing-T waggle is part of the buck series which also features the trap and buck sweep. Without those plays would waggle really be as good a play? For us running "Belly 2" as our best play requires us to be able to run the FB at least a little bit to set it up.

No doubt Q Crunch is the best play in football!!!!!!
Q Crunch is the QB Counter Trey from one back gun. Unstoppable when set up correctly. Counter criss cross in the wing t used to be the best play but Q Crunch has surpassed it.

I'll have to vote for the off-tackle power (and I'm an option guy). If I had to coach a team at every level using the same offense, the first play I would put in would be that one.

What is the best play in football? Optional running pass from the single wing. Nothing places the flat/force defender in a bigger conflict, faster.
