We have our homecoming game scheduled for tonight against the defending state champs. Originally, the game was scheduled for a later date, but since the band isn't going to be here, the game was changed. Guess what, the band won't even be performing at half time because they have to leave to go perform at an out of town "competition". So, they'll only be there for the first quarter or so. The HC had no say, and the game got changed for the band and they're not even going to play the whole game.
Isn't there something wrong with this?

Someone is putting pressure on the Administration. Some organization think they can rule the school. Doesn't sound like a place I'd want to be at. JMO.

LOL, I think homecoming stopped being about a football game and alumni 10-12 years ago. It's about everything but football now. I've heard of choosing a homecoming opponent based on what worked best for teh band and choir but never changing a game. I guess the band must be the main gig on that campus.

Good post. I'm not sure how many current high school students even realize homecoming is for alums, not an excuse for them to get out of class. And, I'm not sure how many of our nonfootball playing students even realize we play a Homecoming football game
